SCL Health

This project focuses on the development and implementation of comprehensive environmental graphic standards across a healthcare system with over 90 clinics and hospitals spread across three states. The goal is to create a cohesive brand experience and wayfinding system across all locations while ensuring that each site reflects the healthcare system's values and provides a welcoming and easily navigable environment for patients and staff.

By developing thesegraphic standards, the healthcare system has successfully ensured a cohesive brand identity and enhanced the patient experience across its network of 90+ clinics and hospitals. This approach has led to a seamless, recognizable, and user-friendly environment, regardless of the location or vendor involved in the project.

Unified Brand Identity and Visual Language

A consistent brand identity was established to unify the entire healthcare system’s visual language. This included standardized logos, color palettes, typography, iconography, and imagery that would be applied across all facilities. These elements ensure that every clinic and hospital reflects the same professional and caring atmosphere, reinforcing brand recognition regardless of location.

Vendor Collaboration and Material Specifications

Given the project’s scope across multiple states and regions, precise specifications for exterior graphic materials were essential. Durable, weather-resistant materials were chosen to ensure consistency in appearance and longevity. These specifications, along with guidelines on finishes, typography, and mounting methods, helped streamline collaboration with vendors and contractors while maintaining uniformity and brand integrity across all sites.

Exterior WayfINDING

The healthcare system developed a comprehensive exterior wayfinding program to ensure that patients and visitors can easily navigate to and within the site. Standardized, easy-to-read exterior signage systems, from directional signs to entry markers and parking signage, were designed to be visually uniform across all locations. Special attention was given to accessibility, ensuring that all signage adheres to ADA standards and remains clear and effective in varying environmental conditions.
